OdysseyCMS

Multi-site CMS for agencies and small businesses

Marketing sites that pass technical SEO the day they launch

OdysseyCMS is a hosted CMS that builds the SEO work into the product. Sitemaps update when you publish. Renamed pages get their 301s automatically. Images convert to WebP and AVIF on upload. Every page is scored against a 20-point checklist before your client ever sees it.

Your own server at a published price. No sales call needed.

Most marketing sites lose search traffic to small, invisible mistakes

Nobody sets out to break a site's SEO. It happens one ordinary edit at a time, usually on a site assembled from a theme, a page builder and a handful of plugins that each handle one piece of the job.

A renamed page breaks every link to it

Someone tidies a URL from /our-services-2 to /services. Every backlink and bookmark now lands on a 404, and nobody notices until rankings slip.

The sitemap stops telling the truth

Pages are published, unpublished and deleted, but the sitemap is generated by a plugin that was configured once, years ago. Search engines crawl pages that no longer exist and miss the ones that do.

Content ships without the basics

Two H1s on one page. Images with no alt text. A 4 MB hero photo. A meta description copied across ten pages. Each one is small; together they cost rankings and conversions.

How OdysseyCMS keeps every page search-ready

The checks run where the work happens: in the editor, on publish and on a schedule. You do not install or configure anything to get them.

  1. 1. Create a site in minutes

Every site starts on a free subdomain such as yoursite.kitesdev.com. Add your own domain, publish the DNS TXT record we show you, and OdysseyCMS issues the HTTPS certificate on its own, with HTTP-to-HTTPS redirects and HSTS switched on.

  2. 2. Write in an editor that checks as you type

The visual editor allows one H1 per page, flags skipped heading levels and asks for alt text on every image (or a "decorative" mark). Title and description fields show length meters and warn you about duplicates across the site.

  3. 3. Publish, and the technical work is done for you

The sitemap updates with an accurate lastmod. The page gets a self-referencing canonical, JSON-LD structured data, Open Graph and Twitter cards. Images are served as WebP or AVIF with responsive srcset, width, height and lazy loading.

  4. 4. Watch the SEO health panel

Every page is scored against the 20 points. When something fails, the panel says exactly what and links straight to the field that fixes it.

The OdysseyCMS editor with its live issues strip, warning that the page has no H1 and that an H4 skips the H3 level.

See what fails, and fix it in one click

The SEO health panel scores every page on your site against the 20 points. It does not stop at a score: each failing check names the problem in plain language and links to the exact field that fixes it, so a content editor can clear a warning without asking a developer.

Example of what the panel reports

  • Meta description

Description is 183 characters. Aim for 140 to 160.

    Edit description
  • Image alt text

2 images have no alt text and are not marked decorative.

    Open images
  • Heading structure

An H4 follows an H2. Change it to an H3.

    Open editor
The "Before you publish" dialog: an SEO score of 81 out of 100 and a list of checks to fix, each with a Fix link to the field that resolves it.

Made for people who run more than one site

Agencies and multi-brand teams sign in once and switch between sites from the ⌘K command palette. Each site is fully isolated, with its own content, media, forms, settings and domain, and its own team with roles and permissions. A client can edit their blog without ever seeing another client's site.

  • One login, many sites, with per-site roles
  • Each site sends email through its own SMTP or Microsoft 365 account
  • Free subdomain on every site; custom domains with automatic HTTPS
  • Dashboard that works on a phone when a client calls with a typo

Built in, versus assembled from plugins

Plugin-assembled stacks can rank well, but someone has to choose, configure, update and audit every piece. OdysseyCMS takes a different approach: the essentials ship as one product, tested together.

Job Plugin-assembled stack OdysseyCMS
Sitemap A plugin or generator you configure and keep in sync Updated automatically on publish, unpublish and delete
Slug changes Add the redirect by hand, if someone remembers The 301 is written for you when the slug changes
Image formats An optimization plugin or external service WebP and AVIF generated on upload, served with srcset
Forms and spam A form plugin plus a separate anti-spam tool Built-in builder with spam scoring and reCAPTCHA v3
Checking the result An external crawler or periodic audit Health panel scores every page against 20 points
Updates Coordinate core, theme and plugin versions One hosted product, updated for you

Published pricing: pay for the server, not per site

You pay for the server your sites run on, at the same published prices as Odyssey hosting, and it runs as many sites as it holds. Every server includes the full 20-point SEO baseline, forms, media and email. A longer term lowers the monthly price.

Questions people ask before they start

Who is OdysseyCMS for?

Agencies, freelancers and small businesses who run marketing websites: service pages, landing pages, a blog and lead forms. It is not built for online stores or web applications.

Do I need to install SEO plugins?

No. The 20-point technical SEO baseline is part of the product on every plan. Sitemaps, canonicals, structured data, redirects, image formats and social cards work without extra setup.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Every site gets a free yoursite.kitesdev.com address, and you can connect as many custom domains as you need. You verify it with a DNS TXT record and the HTTPS certificate is issued automatically.

How is it priced?

You pay for the server your sites run on, monthly, at the same published prices as Odyssey hosting. A longer term lowers the monthly price. There is no per-site or per-page fee; images on Cloudflare R2 are billed per GB stored.

Do you host the site, or do I need a server?

OdysseyCMS is hosted. We run the servers, the PostgreSQL database and daily database backups. You bring a domain if you want one.
